The former CJ Fox manufacturing headquarters in Providence is undergoing an extensive rehabilitation, converting it to 50,000sf of office space.
The main architectural move is to reveal as much of the natural beauty of the building’s structure as possible, letting it frame the daily activity which will soon occupy it. We found our inspiration in the subtle, almost abstract, details of the connection between materials.
In Construction.
An existing four-story mill building, the former Mechanical Fabric Mill, is to be converted to a mixed-use, entrepreneurial center.
The first floor will house office space, a restaurant/bar, and commercial kitchens. The top three floors will be converted to residential apartments. A three-story communicating space will extend from the first floor to the third, with office/studio spaces surrounding, and will connect these floors vertically through particular views.
This project is slated for completion in July 2016.
