The G-Pub is a gastro-pub which occupies the ground level of the ProvidenceG complex.
Entering through a grand double-height space with a sculptural metal stair, you are lead into a composition framed by exposed concrete and ductwork, softened with touches of leather banquettes and reclaimed wood tables. The lacquered walnut butcher-block bar provides a richly textured surface over which to share a pint.
The walls are covered with lime washed oak which echoes the efflorescence of the concrete and classic sub-way tile, evoking the tradition of under-ground occupancy.
The Providence Journal called the space “a monument to industrial design…the result is just stunning”.

Inside the Teste Building, originally constructed in 1860 on the corner of Weybosset and Dorrance, the Garde de la Mer Restaurant sits on the ground level. An extension built to the side houses the bar for the restaurant with a mezzanine above looking down on the former exterior of the Providence Gas Company.
Part of the Providence G Complex, the exterior brick was repointed, brownstone stripped of paint and repaired, and the historic windows were intensively restored. The storefront was designed and fabricated to echo historic photos, while serving the modern restaurant use behind it.

One of the first parking garages (ever!) the Narragansett Hotel Garage has long been in danger of demolition.
Serving as parking for the ProvidenceG complex, the exterior red paint was stripped to reveal the original buff brick, and the interior steel and concrete floors have been restructured. Most strikingly, historically accurate windows have been installed.
The lower floor will continue to provide structured parking (via double and quad lifts) while the upper floors are being converted to apartments.

An existing four-story mill building, the former Mechanical Fabric Mill, is to be converted to a mixed-use, entrepreneurial center.
The first floor will house office space, a restaurant/bar, and commercial kitchens. The top three floors will be converted to residential apartments. A three-story communicating space will extend from the first floor to the third, with office/studio spaces surrounding, and will connect these floors vertically through particular views.
This project is slated for completion in July 2016.
The former CJ Fox manufacturing headquarters in Providence is undergoing an extensive rehabilitation, converting it to 50,000sf of office space.
The main architectural move is to reveal as much of the natural beauty of the building’s structure as possible, letting it frame the daily activity which will soon occupy it. We found our inspiration in the subtle, almost abstract, details of the connection between materials.
In Construction.
